Wellness and the Importance of the Mediterranean Diet

● generous amounts of beta-carotene and lycopene

By following an eating pattern that included the above nutrients, both Japanese and Greek citizens largely avoided heart disease, and were able to maintain a healthy weight. The beauty of adopting this kind of eating pattern is that it means no matter what your ethnic background may be, you will probably enjoy all the same benefits that people do from Greece and Japan, provided that you embrace a similar pattern of eating.
